One object. Three moments a day.

The alarm ends where you put it
Your alarm rings on your phone. Dismissing it happens somewhere else — wherever you placed your Tapout the night before. Bathroom shelf, kitchen bench, front door. You get up because the off switch is not in your hand.
Walk. Scan. Awake.
10:00day
Focus starts with a tap
Pick the apps that pull you away. Tap your phone on Tapout to start a focus block. Opening the escape hatch now means physically going back to the object — and that pause is usually all it takes to not bother.
Tap. Lock in. Work.

Tomorrow is decided tonight
Set the alarm. Place Tapout where tomorrow should begin. The decision about how you wake up gets made now, by the rested version of you — not at 6am by the version negotiating for five more minutes.
Set. Place. Sleep.

Software limits keep the exit in your hand
Every screen-time tool ships with an escape hatch, and the escape hatch is always one tap away. The problem is not the limit. It is where the exit lives.

Tapout does not make bad habits impossible. It makes the wrong action slower than the right one — and most habits cannot survive a walk across the room.

Questions, answered straight
What is Tapout?
A physical NFC device paired with an alarm and focus app. To finish your alarm you get up and scan the device wherever you placed it. To start a focus block, you tap your phone on it. One object, two jobs: getting up and locking in.
Why does it need to be a physical object?
Because software limits keep the exit in your hand. When the off switch lives across the room, ignoring your alarm or your focus block requires physically going there — and that friction is the product.
Does the device need charging?
No. NFC tags are passive — your phone powers the tag for the instant of the scan. Nothing to plug in or replace.
Which phones does it work with?pending confirmation
Exact device and OS support is being finalised alongside the app release. We will publish a full compatibility list here before orders open, and we won’t sell to a device we haven’t tested.
Can I bypass it? What stops me from cheating?pending confirmation
The enforcement details — strict modes, what happens if you ignore the alarm, and how blocks behave — will be documented here exactly as they work in the shipping app. We would rather publish the real behaviour than promise "unbreakable" and quietly disappoint you.
What happens in an emergency?pending confirmation
An honest commitment device still needs a safe exit for genuine emergencies. The exact emergency behaviour will be published here from the shipping app before orders open.
Does the app require a subscription?pending confirmation
Pricing and app-access model haven’t been finalised. Whatever we decide will be stated plainly on this page before you can order — no surprise paywalls after purchase.
How long does setup take?pending confirmation
Setup is designed to be minutes, not an evening: install the app, pair the device, place it. The exact onboarding flow will be documented here from the shipping app.
What exactly comes in the box?pending confirmation
Final contents will be listed here once packaging is locked. What you’re buying is the physical Tapout device plus access to the companion app.
What if it doesn’t work for me?pending confirmation
Our return and guarantee policy will be published before orders open. It will be a real policy, in plain language, on this page.
